DJ Dog Lucky Spins: eight free spins, records and blanks only

The studio calls it the show stopper and describes it in four short sentences. Unusually, those four sentences answer every question a player normally has to go looking for — including the one about retriggering.

Golden records carrying 1x, 2x and 5x on the DJ Dog reels, with the Lucky Spins counter reading three of eight
Three of eight, printed beside the decks. The feature state is a readable fraction rather than a sound cue or a colour change.

Lucky Spins explained

The trigger is the part that sets this feature apart from most, and the studio's wording is precise: Lucky Spins may trigger at the beginning of any spin. Not on three scatters. Not on a bonus symbol landing in a particular column. At the start of the spin, before the reels have resolved anything.

That is a meaningful difference rather than a phrasing quirk. In a scatter-triggered game you watch the reels stop and then find out whether a feature has been won, which means every spin carries a second, slower question after the first one. Here you already know. The eight spins are announced at the top of the spin and the screen changes to match.

It also means there is nothing to collect towards and nothing to watch for. No partial trigger, no two-of-three state, no near miss on the feature itself. The studio does not publish how often it happens and this site does not guess.

The feature in four statements

All four are on the studio's own page for this title, which is why the attribution column says the same thing four times. It is unusual for a studio page to close this many gaps.

What the eight spins look like

Once the feature begins, the reels hold two things: golden records and blank positions. The dog faces that fill the base-game grid are gone for the duration. What remains is a mostly empty frame with discs appearing in it, each one already showing the figure it carries.

The paying rule does not change. The studio repeats it for the feature in the same words it used for the base game — five or more records pay the values they carry — so the eight spins are not a different game, they are the same game with everything that cannot pay removed from the reels.

Our own capture catches the round mid-flight, at three of eight, with six discs on the grid carrying 1x, 2x and 5x and the remaining cells holding dog tiles. The counter is a printed fraction beside the decks: the state of the round is readable at a glance, with no sound and no animation required to understand it.

The question the studio answers in advance

It is not possible to trigger more Lucky Spins during the feature. That sentence is on the studio's page, and it removes the single most common ambiguity in free-spin rounds: whether the eight can become sixteen.

They cannot. Eight is the length of the round, full stop, and a round that cannot extend itself is a round you can reason about from the moment it starts. You know exactly how many chances remain, because the counter is the whole story and nothing can add to it.

There is a second thing the studio does not say and therefore this page will not either: nothing is published about the odds of the feature starting, about whether stake size affects it, or about any pattern in when it arrives. A feature that may begin at the start of any spin is a feature that may begin at the start of the next one or not for a long while, and no amount of watching changes that.

Buying the round, where the licence allows it

Greentube lists a second build of this title whose only addition is a way into this feature without waiting: 50× the total bet, straight to Lucky Spins. The studio states that the option exists in certain licences, so it is not available everywhere and is not a property of the game as such.

The eight spins bought this way are the same eight spins. Same reel content, same paying rule, same impossibility of extending the round. What changes is the price and the timing, and anybody weighing it up is comparing a fixed, known cost against an unknown wait — which is a different kind of decision from any other in the game.

One thing follows from that which is easy to get backwards. Because the buy-in is a separate title in the studio's own catalogue rather than a button bolted onto the plain one, a figure published for one of them is not automatically a figure for the other. Anybody comparing two percentages found on two pages should first establish which of the two builds each page was looking at, and most pages do not say.

Questions about the feature

All four answered from the studio's own description.
How does the feature start? It may trigger at the beginning of any spin, before the reels resolve. There are no scatters to collect and no partial trigger to watch for.
How many free spins are awarded? Eight. The counter is printed beside the decks as a fraction, so the state of the round is readable without sound.
Can more Lucky Spins be won during the Lucky Spins round? No. The studio states that it is not possible to trigger more Lucky Spins during the feature, so eight is the full length.
What lands during the eight spins? Records and blank positions only. The ordinary dog symbols are absent for the duration, and the five-record paying rule is unchanged.

The panel under the reels is next: what each control does, where the stake and balance sit, and which switches are worth finding before the first spin.

One question before that tab opens

Are you 18 or over?

An operator site opens next, where this game is played for money, and 18 is the age for that in Great Britain. The answer stays in this browser and is sent nowhere.
